Review: Psychopomp & Circumstance

Psychopomp & Circumstance Psychopomp & Circumstance by Eden Royce
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"In some circles, folk would have called Auntie a witch, but there is a different kind of magic that comes over a person when they are content in themselves. They are a silent presence, an impenetrable force that radiates so strongly it calls others."

"Choice. It came down to that in the end, really. The choices we make, the chances we have. Some of us have too little to make a life yet still manage it somehow."

This was a really charming story about a young woman freeing herself from an overbearing mother and finding herself by grieving the loss of her favorite aunt. Sometimes, we have to leave everything behind to find who we are, who we're meant to be.

Together, they set out to alternately annoy and bore the shit out of me, as it was also her superpower; and solve a murder that I, myself, solved before 40% of the book had been read. Unfortunately, they survived to annoy and angst me into...

Review: The Ruin of a Rake

The Ruin of a Rake by Cat Sebastian My rating: 5 of 5 stars Just...perfection. I'm so happy that I stumbled across this trilogy; they were each a perfect blend of romance, emotion, and humor. I found myself lost in each character and actively rooting for their happiness. All good things must come to an end, but *happy, contented sigh* ... View all my reviews
