The Lockdown Mann by Riley Hart My rating: 3 of 5 stars My adult brain got in the way for most of this. It's unfathomable to me that you could be this hung up over someone you knew for two weeks when you were sixteen. It's been 11 years and it was TWO WEEKS. And because that was the basis of their relationship, everything about them felt ridiculous. Review: A Marvellous Light

A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske My rating: 4 of 5 stars Trigger/Content Warnings: - murder - off page suicide - violence - torture via curse - loss of will and bodily autonomy via magic This was a very charming, magical murder mystery. And I didn't guess the main antagonists, so extra points for that. However, my favorite part was the slow-burn romance. I know some people - *cough* my book bestie *cough* - can't stand them, and some of them can feel too long or too forced; but this one felt as natural as breathing. I like that they were trudging along with their quest and their walls, and one day- and they don't know when or how it happened - they looked at each other and thought it'd be nice to make each other smile every day for the rest of their lives. Rent: Paid in Full by Jesse H. Reign My rating: 4 of 5 stars Wasn't sure that I'd rate it this highly, given that Ryan was exasperating for a cool 40% of it, but Miller was absolutely shameless, and that saved it for me.
